WELCOME TO INTERCHANGE VICTORIA
Volunteers caring for kids with disabilities
Interchange Victoria is a community based, not for profit organisation that provides support to families who have a child with a disability. Interchange provides respite and social support through a range of programs and services with the help of carefully selected volunteers. Interchange programs include host care, youth groups, school holiday programs, camps, sibling and family activities.
Interchange is available to all children and young adults living in Victoria who have a disability.
Please see 'Switch Language' to the left for information in a language other than English.
Interchange School Activities
Interchange Activities is an experiential learning approach to disability awareness. It promotes greater understanding, acceptance and inclusion for people with a disability in our community.
The activities are interactive, fun and simple to ensure anyone from school children to adults can participate. The activities are not meant to cover all the challenges and opportunities people with a disability face, but an appreciation for what it might be like to have a disability. What we must understand and appreciate that whilst InterChange Activities are only a time-limited activity, for someone with a disability it can be their everyday reality.
The InterChange Activities will not only challenge people, but also allow them to discover ways and opportunities to overcome the difficulties they are faced with during the activity. Discovering these opportunities is an important part in recognising that people with a disability would like to do the things everybody else does.
Download the activities and run them anytime of the year.
